Description:
cmd.exe allows a user to access the legacy text prompt interface for Windows Operating Systems. Users of Microsoft's old DOS environment will recognize it immediately. Many file system and network task are accessible through cmd.exe but most of them can be performed just as well (and more easily) through the normal Windows interface. This process is probably not system essential, but still should not be stopped or terminated unless you suspect it is causing system problems.
Recommendation for cmd.exe:
Should not be disabled, required for essential applications to work properly.
